1957
Citing poor attendance as the reason, Giants' president Horace Stoneham, ignoring baseball's edict of banning announcements about relocation of franchises until after the World Series, informs the press the club has signed a lease to play its home games in San Francisco next season. The club's Board of Directors voted 8-1 approving the shift to the West Coast, with the only dissenting vote cast by M. Donald Grant, who will become the chairman of the Mets, an expansion team located in New York to fill the National League void created by the departure of the Giants and Dodgers to California.


1969
In the bottom of 14th inning, Tommie Agee hits a one-out walk-off homer off Giants’ starter Juan Marchial in the Mets’ 1-0 victory at Shea Stadium. Tug McGraw tosses four scoreless frames for the win after Gary Gentry pitches the first ten, keeping San Francisco off the board on just four hits.
2012
Gio Gonzalez, with his 16th victory, sets a team record when Washington beats the Mets at Nationals Park, 5-2. The 26 year-old southpaw, obtained in an offseason trade with Oakland, surpasses Livan Hernandez, who in 2005 posted a 15-10 record in the Nats' inaugural season in the nation's capital.

2012
Play comes to a stop in the bottom of the sixth inning of the Nats game against the Mets when a praying mantis is discovered in the outfield at Nationals Park. The contest continues after New York outfielder Andres Torres carefully picks up the beneficial insect and gently hands it over to a member of the ballpark's ground crew.

1985: The Mets move into 1st place in the National League East with a 1 - 0 win over the ExposRon Darling, with relief help from Roger McDowell, is the winner.

2018 - The Mets defeat the Phillies, 8 - 2, in the second edition of the annual MLB Little League Classic staged to coincide with the Little League World Series in Williamsport, PAAmed Rosario has 3 hits and 3 RBIs, with Jeff McNeil adding a two-run single to back the pitching of Jason Vargas.

Great commentary by Todd Zeile in that clip. I really like the line (paraphrased a bit, but..) "offensively, they don't know who they are".

Yes great comment by Todd Zeile - thought he nailed it on several fronts - if the process is not working - you are not a good offensive team.
