Tim Britton and The Athletic Staff - Tommy Hunter becomes ninth Mets pitcher to hit IL after suffering back spasms -
The New York Mets placed reliever Tommy Hunter on the 15-day injured list with back spasms, the team announced Tuesday. Here’s what you need to know:
Hunter becomes the ninth Mets pitcher to hit the IL season.
The 36-year-old right-hander allowed five runs in Monday’s 10-0 loss to Milwaukee, his second appearance of the season.
New York also selected right-hander Denyi Reyes to the roster and transferred Bryce Montes de Oca to the 60-day IL.

Curious to see how Denyi does. Has potential and the Mets need good relief.
Crazy Idea. Maybe. Hmm.
We seem to have a few relievers and maybe a starter here that might benefit from learning a knuckleball pitch. Cannot really ask Kodai to teach the "ghost", but maybe a retired and successful knuckleballer could come in and teach it to Mets pitchers who want to throw it?
It could provide them with that one more hard to follow pitch by the batters they face.
This could very well be the season where we see alot of Baty, Vientos, Alvy and Maurcio because we might as well figure out soon how they'll fit into the 24' team. The handwriting is on the wall already and shaky pitching, Diaz's loss, too many injuries and a soft bottom to this lineup and Buck really has his work cut out for him. The age bug a boo has caught up to us.
Is this season a rerun of 1991?
OMG,one week of baseball!
