Nunez made his Spring Training debut today and his stuff looks back to its
elite level!
Nunez
tosses a hard gyro-slider and a high rising cut fastball that stumps batters.
He will be a key piece of the Mets bullpen this season!

Oh you
thought the Mets couldn't possibly have any more stuff demons? Here's another
lol
Okay. This is only one inning. But it’s one inning from an established,
successful major year pitcher coming back from an injury earlier than expected.
We as Mets followers are more used to late returns rather than early ones.
For the record… 1-G, 1-IP, 0.00, 0.00, 1-K
2024 was his first pro season:
25-apps, 2-0, 2.31, 0.91, 35-IP, 48-K
Nunez will not be eligible for free agency until 2023.
There’s no way he will start the season actively, but, based on this
return, there doesn’t seem to be any reason that he won’t be activated past the middle of April.

Nunez was a warm body last year and then he was nearly unhittable. Given his lack of work, I'd keep him in Florida where it's warm for another few weeks and then bring him up.
Definitely, no need to rush him. We need him for the whole year.
If he can stay healthy, what a find
