Calm down, Gus…
No one is saying, barring injury, that Senga will not be on the 26.
We’re just featuring a graph here on his last outing and going over what he heaves

Kodai Senga had a bit of a rough outing against the Cardinals, but there's no reason
to panic!
Despite
allowing a few runs over 3.1 innings, the veteran righty showed glimpses of his
usual elite stuff. As he continues to build up innings this spring, expect him
to bounce back!
Just to review…
Senga throws:
4-seam fastball – sits mid-90s,
averaging 95-96. Good life and above average velocity. Used as setup pitch for
his off-speed stuff. Decent vertical ride. Not elite. Used in early counts or to surprise
hitters.
Ghost Fork – 82-85. Huge
differential from fastball. Signature pitch. Dramatic downward break. 37-38
inches of vertical drop. Extreme high whiff rate. Go-to pitch. Especially in
20strine counts.
Cutter – low-90s, 90-92. Sharp,
late glove side movement. One of the more effective cutters in baseball. Generates
low slugging percentage (around .268 in 2023). Used against all batters,
especially to jam lefties.
Slider/Sweeper – 80-82.
Significant horizontal sweep and depth. Generates high flyball rates. A secondary
pitch, keeping hitters off-balance.
Curve – 68-70. Rarely thrown.
Less than1%. Sharp 12-6 downward break. More of a show me pitch.

We need “Kodai the samurai” in 2025
I really like taking the pressure off him as opening day pitcher
Will fit in well as SP3 behind Sandy and Holmes
Sandy Who?
Huh?

Senga concerns me - he seems to be coming along very slowly from last season's injuries. I am not sure if it is the Mets being over cautious or Senga losing confidence in his ability to pitch through a full game.
