SAVANNAH, Ga. – The Savannah Sand Gnats will hold their annual job fair from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Thursday, March 19 at Historic Grayson Stadium. The Gnats are looking to fill part-time seasonal positions including ushers, ticket takers, and parking attendants as well as concession stand workers and food hawkers.
Applicants should bring two forms of identification and should dress in business casual attire. All positions will run the duration of the Gnats 70-game home schedule. Employees should expect to work three to five fours per night and an average of 45 hours per month.
“We are looking for hard working people to help make 2009 another record-breaking season for the Sand Gnats,” General Manager Bradley Dodson said. “This is a fun summer job for those who are looking to make a little extra money and you get to work in baseball.”
The Gnats will also hold national anthem tryouts for the opportunity to sing the anthem prior to a Gnats home game. Those interested in singing the national anthem are encouraged to tryout at the job fair. All renditions of the national anthem must be no longer than two minutes. Lyrics will be provided upon request.
Savannah opens the South Atlantic League season on April 9 with a lid lifter versus the Augusta GreenJackets. The first game of the year is a Thirsty Thursday contest, which will be followed by postgame fireworks. Season tickets and mini plans are on sale now. Listen live to all 140 Sand Gnats games in 2009 on STAR AM 1400, your home for Sand Gnats baseball.
