The same source that told me that the Mets would sign Oliver Perez the day before the Super Bowl, just told me that the Mets, after watching most of the candidates trying to win the 5th rotational spot come up short (Freddy Garcia will most probably be cut some time next week), will reach out to Pedro Martinez, and there is a good chance he could be in camp before the end of spring training.

At worst he stinks less than garcia.
Redding should be a long man (he's a bit expensive for that though)
right now, the long man looks to be Livan, while the 5th starter would be Nelson Figueroa, if the season started today
