from press release:
The Daytona Cubs completed the four game sweep of the St. Lucie Mets Sunday afternoon at Digital Domain Park. The Mets could not get anything going on offense in the 6-1 loss.
Brandon Moore took the loss for the Mets. Moore was shaky in the first inning allowing two quick runs, but rebounded to retire fifteen of the final eighteen batters he faced. In six innings, Moore allowed two runs on six hits with four strikeouts. The lone Mets run came on a solo home run off the bat of catcher, Michael Moras. It was Moras' first home run as a St. Lucie Met and cut the Cubs lead to 2-1 in the sixth inning. The Mets bullpen could not keep the Cubs offense at bay. Nick Carr allowed a solo home run in the seventh inning and Erik Turgeon allowed a three-run home run in the eighth, both to Cubs shortstop Junior Lake. Sean Green tossed a scoreless ninth in a Major League rehab appearance. Of the Mets five hits, Juan Lagares had two and Pedro Zapata and Wilmer Flores had one each to go along with the Moras home run.
After dropping their sixth consecutive game, the Mets go into an off day on Monday in a tie with the Bradenton Marauders for first place in the FSL South Division. The Mets return to action on Tuesday as they host the Brevard County Manatees at Digital Domain Park. Jeurys Familia is scheduled to get the start for the Mets. Familia is 2-6 with a 6.38 ERA in sixteen starts. His 71 strikeouts leads the team.
