Sure, Citi Field would have helped Bannister. But that's what we say about any pitcher "ooh, Citi Field would really help (Chris Young, Jeff Francis, Cliff Lee, Ambiorix Burgos)", right? Well Bannister would certainly help Bannister more than the Tokyo Dome, which is 361 in the power alleysas opposed to Citi Field's power alleys which stretch to LaGuardia airport. But the Mets didn't want him and his ever rising WHIP to come to the park that can only do so much (see: Perez, Oliver). I guess he didn't have the requisite amount of question marks surrounding his health ... guess they want to keep Ray Ramirez on his toes.

Roberto Alomar:
Talk about your unsolved mysteries. Alomar just could not find comfort in Queens. He never fit in with the Mets. Maybe it was going from a first place Indians team to a losing situation with the Mets? Maybe all the baggage that Alomar checked in with at Shea Stadium, the Hrishbeck spitting saga which weighed on him considerably and the constant meddling of fans and media about his sexual preference led to his down fall with the Mets, I don’t know but I do know that he was one of the most hated Mets of all time. - link
David Wright:
Third baseman – Over the past two seasons, Wright has hit .307, posted a .390 on-base percentage, hit 29 home runs, and stolen 27 bases — only he hasn’t done all those things in the same year. He can still do it all, but not at once. The power came back last year at the expense of the average; he still seems to change his batting stance every two months. Wright’s fielding at third base has become pretty ugly, particularly going towards the line … and that whole throwing the baseball thing. Tom Seaver:
No Brainer. The only Hall of Famer in Mets history. Won 198 games and struck out over 2,500 batters in orange and blue. His 19 strikeout game will always be remembered. Would probably have 300 wins in a Mets uniform if not for Dick Young, M. Donald Grant, and a little snafu by Frank Cashen after the 1983 season.
