Hey NBA, Pay Attention to MLB CBA

One of the big topics in the sports world this week is the ongoing lockout battle between the NBAPA and the NBA Owners. I won't get too deep into the NBA, but the one thing that really makes me want to write this, is the fact that the NBA needs to pay attention the MLB and how they are handling the CBA negotiations.

While the NBA Owners and Players are having constant battles and words through the media, MLB decided to take a different approach. The MLB Owners and Players actually took the negotiations in a private manner. We have never heard anything come out of negotiations other than the progress of the talks. NO arguments, NO war of words in the media, NO BS. Everything was settled in a private, but professional manner.

We don't know necessarily if there were some arguments and such with MLB's negotiations, but they kept all that private. With keeping that private, it just makes the league more professional. The NBA is showing how unprofessional they are with all the bashing in the media.

Also, I wonder if the NFL and NBA lockouts had an effect on MLB negotiations and how quick and (maybe) painless they were? Who knows. We probably won't know what happened.

The NBA and the NFL have had nasty battles while trying to come to an agreement on a new CBA. Major League Baseball has had very private discussions, and they are about to announce the new CBA. If the NBA and the Players want to play basketball anytime soon (or at all this season), it would be a GREAT idea if they were to take a page out of MLB's playbook when it comes to negotiating the CBA.
