Mateo comes with a crazy background. Signed by two other teams and then had the deals fall through because of issues unrelated to baseball. Believe it was age issues. Giants-Padres....both inked him. Crazy great stats in DSL. I guess he'll end up in short season only to build arm strength? He's seemed like he was way too good to be pitching in the DSL last season. I was hoping he'd start in at least Savannah, and hopefully get bumped up mid season. Guess not. I really hate the "developing" part of the process. I want everyone to get signed and join the Mets immediately.
