Daily Mets Minors Report

Date: 4-22-12

AAA-Buffalo:

CF-2B-SS  Jordany Valdespin and Jeremy Hefner have been sent to Queens as part of a “taxi squad” similar to when Josh Satin was called to Queens in case David Wright wasn’t activated… the Hefner promotion is understandable since a spot starter was needed and he could backup Miquel Batista, but why do the Mets need another CFer who isn’t named Andre Torres?
Positions kept being shuffled around… Val Pascucci played RF and Josh Satin was on 1B… Pat Misch starting for Lehigh Valley… Dylan Owen hit the first HR from a Bisons pitcher since John Hope hit one in 1994… I bet Owen and Misch will have some interesting texts tonight to each other…
It didn’t take long for Josh Edgin to get in a Bisons game… Edge struck out the only better he faced in the fifth

Boy, it took long enough... Brad Holt finally closed... 2 batters...2-k... 1-save opporunity... 1-SV…
Phil Humber on David Letterman tonight… (shaking head…)

AA-Binghamton:

LHP Josh Edgin was transferred from Binghamton (AA) to Buffalo (AAA) and INF Sean Kazmar was placed on disabled list (left abdominal strain); retroactive to April 19… Monday was a day off for the B-Mets.
With two openings, my first guess would be the activation (calm down bloggers… just a guess) of 2B Reese Havens. There really isn’t any need to promote anyone else. Hefner will return to Bufallo while Ronny Cedeno will remain on the DL

A+ - St. Lucie: -

CF Darrell  Ceciliani was placed on the 7-day DL for his asinine groin pull that happened during a walk-off celebration. This same kind of injury ruined his 2011 season and the real sad part is this kid can really hit… I simply hate all that walk-off shit… D.J. Carrasco began his rehab stint by pitching a scoreless first inning… then SP Gonzalez Germen blew up, giving up 6-R in 3.1-IP. There also was a Kyle Allen sighting… a real impressive 2.2 scoreless innings, but we have to remember that Allen should be way past A+ ball.
While we’re talking about people playing for this team that aren’t members of the team, CF Andres Torres batted first this game…  Torres plaed six innings, went 3-4, stole two bases, knocked in one, and scored two… on to B-Town…
It’s good to see C Blake Forsythe get three ribbys… I ready liked that draft pick.
RP Adam Kolarek continues his sick 0.00 ERA.

A – Savannah:

No game today son no reduction of team batting average…Savannah remains dead last in the league in BA (.214)… the good news… 2nd in walks.

thank you...

early returns have showed a particular strength in the south while the northeast (especially near the homes of Matt Cerrone, Joe D, and Adam Rubin)have been difficult to commantd :)
