None of you are going to say that Jason Vargas should still be on this team. The question is the return. So... The question is... Are you happy with the Jason Vargas trade?

This was a addition by subtraction type of situation. When you watch the ballgames, DeGrom, Wheeler, Matz and Syndergaard always are sitting and talking together, unless one of them is pitching. Vargas was always by himself and had told his friends that he wanted to be traded. Plus, he lost last night, so he is helping us now.
Could he have been useful out of the pen and available as insurance should a starter get injured? I think this was a Jeffy trade because Vargas got some bad headlines and the return was his son's buddy. Dumb move.
It seems like the Wilpons take some things way to personal. I almost feel like he was 100% run out of town because of the beat writer dust up and not getting on board with the front office afterwards. I do think he had more value than a nobody catcher. Insurance, bullpen or just not giving him to another contender/competitor that could get value from him.

I still think he could have been useful as a Met - I hope I am proven wrong. Our 5 starters need to stay healthy.
I agree with Rob........plus, the catcher they got "could" be a #2 type with his strong defense.
Sign Wheeler to a decent extension and roll into 2020 with Jake, Noah, Stroman, Wheeler and Matz!
Not too shabby.

There might be more to this nobody cather.
He hit three home runs in his last series on his old team.
Against and in Binghamton.
So long as Vargas loses games for the Phillies I am fine with the deal.
he really didn't pitch that bad, but they shed some salary which is fine
