a story about Marcus Stroman’s number change they list the other Mets that wore
number 0. Terry McDaniel (1991), Rey
Ordonez (1996-1997), and Omar Quintanilla (2014). Tony Clark wore No. 00 in
2003.

Last night in the Dominican Rebublic, Chris
Mazza was the only Met in action as he threw a 1-2-3 7th as part
of a Toros
del Este 2-1 win. He retired the
side with a pop-up, a swinging strikeout to Juan
Lagares, and a line out.
FYI, overall Juan is hitting .364 with 8 singles in 22 at-bats.
In that same game, Jenrry
Mejia started for Toros del Este, going 5 innings giving up 2 hits and one
run.
Still no current Mets in Venezuela
or Puerto
Rico.

Yep. Wait until you see tomorrow's. What did you say in one of your posts a month or so ago, when you make a mistake again it's not a mistake, it's a choice!

Seriously here, how many times can any one MLB team make the same futile error in judgement of bringing up north the same named players that they have for four or five seasons straight, who really have not established themselves as consistent or capable? This includes utility players and pitchers as well. The Mets bull pen turnstile door has got to close now too. It's worn out and pulling loose. Sometimes AAA career pitchers and players need to retire too!
Is it me here or is someone else here possibly feeling the same way about tired old 30 year old players mentioned season after season as possibly landing on the breaking camp 25-man? I won't name names here (but two are fielders and three assumed relievers). The fans know who.
Chances have to eventually run out for everyone. Cannot this team cut the cord and move on already. It's time now for new faces to be given a true shot here. Like for instance here: Uceta and Blackham, to name two.
I will repeat myself here with the Wheeler departure.
The one thing that has withstood the test over the past four NYM seasons was the starting rotation assembled here. However, it is now in "some jeopardy" of being lessened to almost MLB average status by this loss of Zachary. This crazy notion that somehow Marcus Stroman can step right into Wheeler's third starting place shoes is truly most silly. Stroman is pushing age 30 (same as Zach) and is an okay fourth starter on most good MLB rotations, and a really good fifth starter. He hasn't the stats nor the big strikeout capability like Jake, Noah, and Zachary had. So to me, this means that the 2020 NYM could feasibly have just two really good starters at the top end, and three starters in question, instead of the usual two lower end. This hopefully could change though, in getting a good third starter added into the mix. It is thankfully very early into the off season and I am sure that GM Van Halen sees just this too. So we will have to wait and see.
I don't see free agent Houston's Derrick Cole wanting to come here, reports are he likes his native west coast a lot better. Although that would be awesome I do agree. And my hunch is that there would be a lynching party of a GM in DC if the Nationals did not somehow re-sign Steven Strasburg. I think Washington will make that happen because Strasburg should be their franchise player for life.
With Zach gone now, the Mets apparently having no one from AAA they can automatically call up, and the at least somewhat locked "open to buy budget" been reported, that to me leaves starter free agent Michael Francisco Pineda Paulino as a viable option moving forward. Pineda's stats and age are somewhat comparable to Wheeler's, he had a decent 2019 and has been dominant in his past.
Maybe on a one year this could buy the Mets another season with Peterson, Szapucki, Gonzales, and KSmith.
