I can't say Jake Marisnick as the expectation is he will suck and likely he will. I can't say Cano because, well, ditto. Perhaps the disappointment potential rests on Wilson Ramos who was surprisingly healthy last year. That's not likely to continue given his track record.
My disappointment list is (1) Seth Lugo (2) Wilson Ramos, and (3) Yeonis Cespedes.
(1) Lugo: I certainly hope it does not happen, but his elbow has been an accident waiting to happen for a couple years. I have not seen much about it and maybe he can pitch through it for his entire career, but most people talk about him now like he is the second coming of Mariano (well, not quite, but the general blogosphere seems to hold him up pretty high in the bullpen). I just am leery that he can continue that . .no real reason for it, but for every positive prognostication, there is an equal and opposite downer. If his elbow does bark, the best scenario would be to have it go in spring training, start the year on the shelf and BVW go get McHugh to backfill. (2) Ramos: How many times can you catch lightning in a bottle? He exceeded expectations last year, is now a year older and had a lot of games last year. I think he is due for some regression, especially when he came in with a history of injuries. Unfortunately, a lot of the Mets team hopes rest on his being back there almost as much as he was last year. If he were to go down, how reasonable would it be to expect Nido/Rivera to shoulder the load. Defensively they could probably handle it, but the black hole in the batting order would be ugly. (3) Cespedes: He has teased us enough with his recent video to say that if he gives us what we were all expecting right along (nothing), it will be a disappointment.
#1 Dominic Smith: I know he isn’t a full time player but I think he can’t be any better than last year but can be much worse. Would be nice to trade him while the value is high. #2 Steven Matz: Great guy but finds a way to underachieve when needed and his home/road splits are huge. #3 Justin Wilson: Doubt he finds the success he had last year.

Jed Lowriw.
I'm not sure we will ever see him.
Lowrie, I agree, is most likely. But it is a contract year for Jed...
Rob Gsellman? Will he ever step it up to an ERA in the 3's?
I am going to say Diaz. I think Familia and Diaz will both have bounce back years.
