Bubba Chandler, RHP/SS, North Oconee HS (Bogart, Ga.)
A consensus third-round talent coming into 2021, Chandler offered plenty of intrigue as a projectable prep right-hander who was also a legitimate prospect as a shortstop as well as a Clemson quarterback recruit. All of those things are still true, but his projection has become closer to reality since he blossomed into the best two-way prospect in the Draft and a possible first-rounder. What was an 88-93 mph fastball is now ranging from 92-97 mph, he has added more power to a quality curveball and an effective slider, and he also shows trust in his changeup. As a position player, he’s a switch-hitter with plus raw power, solid speed and shortstop defense and obviously well-above-average arm strength.
Mack’s spin -
Look what an increase of 3-4 ticks on your fastball can mean.
I probably have him far too low as the 25th righty on the board.
4-13-21 - PG Deep South - @PG_DeepSouth
‘21 Brady Tygart (MS) goes three no hit innings tonight for @TheBurgbball, FB 88-92/93 with usual arm side life, showed a CH at 83/84 and CB at 75/76. The Razorback commit lived in the zone with all three offerings
Mack’s spin -
I currently have Tygart as the 46th righthander to be drafted in the next draft.

Peyton Stovall is exactly the type of bat that surprises on draft day. Teams pay a premium for the peace of mind hit tool at the next level. If he doesn’t go in the first round, he’s a pretty decent bet to get popped in the top 100 picks.
An Arkansas commit, Stovall certainly has a solid fallback plan too, so he won’t be cheap.
Stovall fits the mold of the Todd Walker, Daniel Murphy, Jason Kipnis types of yesteryear. His talent with the bat give him a pretty solid floor. He’s a personal favorite of mine, and I think he makes a lot of sense for Seattle at pick no. 47... even more-so as an overspend option at pick no. 84, though I’d be surprised if he lasted that long.
Mack’s spin -
I currently have Stovall as the 15th top shortstop in the draft.
4-12-21 - Baseball News - Players of the Week 4-12 -
LHP Matt Mikulski, Fordham: Mikulski struck out a career-high 16 batters over 7 innings during a win against St. Bonaventure as he allowed just 1 hit. It was his fourth straight start with double-digit strikeouts.
Mack’s spin - Mikulski is a 6-2 lefty, with a funkt delivery and a 91-93 fastball.
I have him at the 173rd pick.
2021 current (as of 4-12) stat line: 6-starts, 5-0, 0.96, 37.2-IP, 68-K
4-12-21 - Baseball News - Players of the Week 4-12 -
1B Alex Binelas, Louisville: Binelas went 6-for-18 at the plate with 3 home runs, 1 double and 10 RBI with 5 runs scored over 4 games.
Mack’s spin -
Binelas will be the first third baseman picked in this draft.
It’s nice to see his bat is coming around after a slow start.
2021 Louisville stat line, as of 4-12: 30-G, 117-AB, .231, 7-HR
4-12-21 - Baseball News - Players of the Week 4-12 -
LHP Rodney Boone, U.C. Santa Barbara: Boone collected 14 strikeouts over 6 2/3 innings during an 11-1 win over Cal. St. Northridge as he only allowed 2 hits and 1 run. After allowing the first two batters to reach base in the first inning, the southpaw struck out 8 straight batters and retired 12 in a row.
Mack’s spin -
Fastball only hits 92… what helps is a high vertical rise… excellent pitching metrics.
20201 UCSB stat line, as of 4-12: 8-SR, 6-1, 1.79, 45.1-IP, 54-K
4-11-21 - Ian Smith @FlaSmitty
Sam Houston State OF Colton Cowser is on an absolute tear right now.
He’s went yard in each of the last 5 games, 12 on the year. Slashing .375/.504/.779 over 29 G this season. Good chance for a 15/15+ season. True CF with 1st round tools and plenty of projection left
Mack’s spin -
Here comes Cowser.
I have moved him up tp my 4th outfielder, right behind Jud Fabian and ahead of Ethan Wilson.
4-11-21 - Perfect Game Wisconsin and Minnesota @PG_WiscMinn
C Joey Spence (‘21, West Bend, WI) rips this one thru the 6 hole for a single. Patient hitter with a mature approach, has been a consistent performer at PG events throughout his career
Mack’s spin -
I rank Spence as my 14 catcher, going late on Day 2.
4-10-21 - Aaron Fitt @aaronfitt
My report from Greenville: Gavin Williams has always tantalized with his raw arm strength, but the development of a quality slider and better mound presence has helped him emerge as the bona fide ace that ECU was seeking:
Mack’s spin -
The 6-6 righty has had quite the last two years…
2020: 2-appearances, 3-IP, 0.00, 5-K
2021 (as of 4-11) 7-games, 4-starts, 4-0, 0.86, 31.1-IP, 51-K
That is a combined three earned runs in 34.1-IP.
4-10-21 - Keanan Lamb @keananlamb
Ryan Bliss just continues to hit. The 2021 War Eagle SS has several 2-strike hits in two games and does a great job of going with the ball in the zone
Mack’s spin -
The 5-8, sometimes shortstop, sometimes second baseman, has a current Auburn stat line (as of 4-11) of: 25-G, 109-AB, .367, .410-OBP, 7-HR.
Not bad power (.596 slugging percentage) from someone this small.
4-10-21 - Burke Granger @burkegranger
Heat Sheet Alert here in Oxford as Sam Bachman (RHP, Miami, OH) touched 100 mph in the first. Had 101 on a few guns around me. Sitting 96-99 thru 3 frames. Swing and miss slider at 86-90.
Burke Granger @burkegranger
Full inning (1st) of Sam Bachman (rhp, @MiamiOHBaseball). Low slot paired w/ arm side run makes him particularly tough on RHH. 100 mph helps too. Cheat code slider.
6IP, 1H, 1R, 1ER, 1BB, 11K. 69 pitches/51 strikes.
16 swings & misses (8 FB, 8 SL)
Mack’s spin -
I currently have him as the 7th RHP picked in this draft.
2021 stat line, as of 4-11: 6-starts, 2-0, 1.04, 0.73, 26-IP, 43-K

AS long as Sandy doesn't pick another Gavin Cecchini over the next Lucas Giolito, I will be ok with this draft.
Funny, in just two years - and only 5 rounds to the draft last year, Brody may end up with a better draft haul.
Here is the good news...
Sandy doesn't determine who is drafted.
Bachman sounds interesting. 100? That is Baseball Bitcoin.
Who does? Sandy get the credit or the blame

The draft's final say is Tommy Tanous (sp).
Bachman is going all Turner Overdrive lately.
He is takin' care of business.
