Nolan Schanuel

Versatile, powerful, and productive are the best ways to describe Nolan Schanuel after a stellar freshman season at FAU. The big lefty made a big impact, hitting for both power and average while manning both corner spots in the infield and a cameo here and there in the outfield. Schuanel is actually a fringe-average runner, so the straight-line speed can handle a corner outfield role at the next level. The bat is going to be strong enough to play no matter where he settles on the defensive spectrum.

Nolan Schanuel is a 6-foot-3, 195-pound left-handed hitting infielder/outfielder known for his advanced offensive toolset. He has an exceptional approach at the plate with a notable feel for the strike zone.
Mechanically, he uses a slightly unusual setup and a leg kick as a timing mechanism. Schanuel consistently barrels up the baseball, makes hard contact, and hits for average
Defensively, Schanuel has almost exclusively played first base in his first two years at FAU. Playing first base has been an adjustment for Schanuel, who was an outfielder in high school.
Schanuel’s versatility will benefit him moving forward. He has the skill set to handle a corner outfield spot due to his solid athleticism and average speed. He likely will play in the outfield this spring.

It's likely Nolan Schanuel is the best baseball player you've never heard of. The FAU slugger has been a mainstay on leaderboards for years now. Schanuel may have the best approach in the country with big juice. A premier name for the 2023 Draft.

Schanuel was one of my favorite players this summer. Consistently hit the ball hard and turned in great PAs. Expecting big things from him this summer
