Good discussion by Ernest. I saw 2024’s minors prospect performances as below expectations overall, which is not helpful to maximizing trade values. I will have some thoughts on the injured trio of Jett, Drew, and Jacob on Thursday.

Other than the injuries, Stearns has now had a year - and a bunch of scouting and development staff that he’s brought in - to evaluate the org’s talent, so he’s more likely to feel comfortable making trade decisions than last offseason. That said, the Jett/Gilbert/Mauricio and a few other injuries make it difficult to assess the depth of what we actually have. Also, as Tom mentions above, the underwhelming performance of so many guys make wonder how much value other orgs will see in our system. Given all of that, I wouldn’t be surprised to see a couple of mid-level prospects go this winter, I’d guess they won’t make any big prospects-for-stars moves until the trade deadline.

Adam, watching the Mets now is like watching a season of Extreme Makeover. Very unpredictable.
