Shane Sdao underwent elbow surgery this past September and will miss the entire 2025 season, so his draft stock may plummet a bit. The 6 '2 lefty enjoyed a breakout campaign for Texas A&M in 2024, going 5-1 with a 2.96 ERA over 48.2 innings pitched while striking out 55 and only walking 9. Sdao features a low 90s fastball that is capable of reaching the mid-90s while a low 80s slider keeps hitters off balance and generates a ton of swing and miss. The Texas native also works in a good mid-80s changeup that he commands well. With three good pitches in his repertoire and his projectable attributes, a number of MLB organizations should be eager to draft him.

Logged 20 appearances and five starts...Compiled a 5-1 record to go along with a 2.96 ERA, 1.05 WHIP and two saves...Posted 55 strikeouts to nine walks in 48.2 innings of work...Picked up second career save after 3.2 scoreless innings against Alabama (4/19)... Topped a career-high in innings pitched against Ole Miss with 7.0 shutout frames, allowing just three hits and punching out six (5/12).

Appeared in 22 games on the mound with two starts, compiling a 4.78 ERA and a 4-1 record...Struck out 46 in 43.1 innings of work...Recorded 4.0 innings of relief against Cal State Fullerton (6/2) with four strikeouts at the Stanford Regional...Tallied a career-high five strikeouts against Northern Kentucky (3/12)...Made his first appearance against Seattle (2/19) and recorded two strikeouts in 2.0 innings.

According to Ryan Brauninger of TexAgs, Texas A&M left-handed pitcher Shane Sdao will be out for the entire 2025 season due to elbow surgery. Sdao suffered the injury during the Aggies’ Super Regional matchup against Oregon earlier in the year. After attempting to go through the recovery process, everyone involved decided surgery was required.

“News: Texas A&M left handed pitcher Shane Sdao will miss the 2025 season after undergoing surgery to repair a ligament in his elbow that was injured in last year’s Super Regional against Oregon,” Brauninger said via X. “He attempted to rehab it but pain and discomfort continued so the repair was needed.”
