Tom Brennan - A Red Hot Mets Minor League Hitter; Bad Baseball Bookends

TREY SNYDER ON FIRE

WOO HOO, THERE IS A SIZZLING HOT METS MINOR LEAGUE HITTER!

St Lucie’s Trey Snyder on Sunday had a HR, triple, two singles, and 5 RBIs.

A sizzling .388/.434/.633 in July. Woosh!

He missed the first several weeks of 2026 with an injury.

He’s smoking now more than an uncontrolled Canadian wildfire.

A 6’1” 200 righty bat, with speed and just one error this year in 31 games between CF and 2B.

2029 Mets starting CF? Don’t rule him out.

MONDAY’S BAD BASEBALL BOOKENDS

Luis Robert Jr returned Monday. He and Brett Baty each went 0-4 with 3 Ks.

Me? I want new books.

Freddy P. meanwhile couldn’t contain his storm surge.

His bad outing had his ERA crest above flood stage at 5.01.

Imagine if anyone told you in the off season, “hey, Freddy’s late July ERA will  be 5.01.”  You’d probably ask what they were smoking.

Kind of like pulling up to the pump and seeing regular gas is $5.01 per gal.

Painful.

Another loss, too.

Not for Pete’s sake…but for draft’s sake…

PLEASE KEEP LOSING.

The Peralta plunge is a mystery. How can someone that is supposed to be so good be this bad? The Mets are always tweaking pitchers mechanics with all their new technology and I would bet that this Peralta problem traces back to something they did wrong with his delivery that is now committed to muscle memory and can't be easily reversed. It will take another team and another coaching staff to fix him.

Could be. Freddy’s failure has been very impactful. Just puzzling.

Peralta is now close to untraceable

You will have to pay 100% of monies due to get him out of Dodge

In return, a deep dish slice

Mack,
Are we at the point of accepting a 4th round compensatory draft pick, if those still exist in 2027, instead of a trade?
