Minors Stuff: - Rhiner Cruz, Jason Pridie, Mike Antonini, and Jimmy Fuller

Bisons:

A two-out, two-run single by Jason Pridie in the eighth inning gave the Buffalo Bisons their first lead of the game en route to a 7-6 win over the Scranton/Wilkes Barre Yankees in PNC Field Friday night. It was the first win of the year for the Herd (1-1) and a rare victory for the club against Scranton on the road. With the win, the Bisons are just 9-17 in PNC Field, which opened in 2007, and just 13-28 in Moosic, Pa., since 2005. - http://www.buffalonews.com/2010/04/09/1014651/bisons-rally-get-first-win-of.html

Lucy:

Tough outing for RP Rhiner Cruz. Credited with 4-ER in 0.0-IP (2-H, 1-BB, 0-outs), his ERA is currently infinity… have no idea wht last year’s Gnats closer was pitching in the 7th inning… a little research would have told the coach that Cruz pitched like shit last year in non-closer situations.

Gnats:

Press Release: – Gnats lefthander Jimmy Fuller shut out the West Virgina Power (0-2) for six innings to push the Savannah Sand Gnats (2-0) to a 5-0 win Friday night at Historic Grayson Stadium in Savannah. After a single and a Wilmer Flores error with one out in the first inning, Fuller set down the next 16 Power batters in a row. His streak ended with two outs in the sixth inning. Fuller struck out the side in the first inning and fanned six in his six innings of work while walking one and yielding just two hits.

West Virginia starter Nathan Baker shut out the Gnats through four innings. However, catcher Kai Gronauer’s leadoff walk in the fifth sparked a four-run frame. With runners at second and third after a Baker throwing error, second baseman Alonzo Harris drilled an 0-1 offering off the pitcher’s mound and into centerfield to give the Gnats a 2-0 lead. Centerfielder Pedro Zapata then lined a double down the right field line to drive in Harris. Rafael Fernandez’s RBI single into centerfield brought home Zapata to make the score 4-0. Savannah tacked on its final run in the seventh when Fernandez doubled home Zapata.

From: http://savannahnow.com/sports/2010-04-10/gnats-fuller-brushes-away-power  -  Jimmy Fuller grew up in Massachusetts and went to college at Southern Connecticut State. No, he doesn't get any grief for being in a New York professional baseball organization."If it was the Yankees, maybe," he said. New York, New England and Savannah baseball fans were happy with Fuller on Friday. The 22-year-old left-hander kept hitters off-balance for six scoreless innings and led the Sand Gnats to a 5-0 victory over the West Virginia Power before 1,940 fans in Grayson Stadium.
