Mack - 2022 MLB Draft Scouting Report - SS - Nazier Mule

Nazier Mule   (MOO-lay)

Mack's spin -

Frankly, I have been moving this kid up on my board since I first started his paper last November.

A real live two way talent.

A power hitter who also hiys for average, agreat defender at short, and a pitcher that hits 99.

Many classify him as a pitcher. I don't. It will simply be impossible to ignore his bat skills; however, if the team that drafts him grooms him as a 2-way player, this may be the next played that can star both ways.

I have him as my 3rd SS and 11th RHP.

SS      6-3    210

8-8-21 - BA  -

Nazier Mule, SS/RHP (New Jersey)

National and then showing one of the firmest fastballs at East Coast Pro, touching 98.

Mule is strong and athletic, with a 6-foot-2, 205-pound frame and plenty of natural strength and bat speed that translate to above-average raw power. Mule will occasionally run into an elevated pitch over the plate and drive it with impact, but his offensive approach is incredibly raw at the moment, with very questionable pitch selection, swing decisions and general swing-and-miss issues. Defensively, he flashes impressive actions that have led to a few highlight plays in the infield, with good body control and an ability to throw with strength and accuracy from multiple angles and positions. He doesn’t have an exceptionally quick first step or great side-to-side mobility, so third base might be a better fit, but his impressive natural arm strength could also allow him to play deeper than other shortstops.

7-27-21 - Prospect Love Top 100 2022 Prospects -

# 85 Nazier Mule RHP/SS Passaic County Tech

Elite level two-way athlete. Up to 97 off the mound from a short, low 3/4 arm slot. Immense arm speed. Flashes a gyro-slider and some feel for a changeup. Top of the class bat speed with significant raw power. Hands work really well on the infield with plus arm strength, maybe more. Hyper-athletic abilities suggest he can stick at the position. Mule projects better on the mound for us, currently. Some early similarities to Masyn Winn, a two-way draftee in 2020.

7-21-21 - detroit jock city -

Nazier Mulé, RHP/SS, Passaic Co Tech High School (N.J.)

One of the best names in the class is Nazier Mulé from New Jersey. The prep two-way has plenty to like and has been atop the ’22 draft class for some time. There’s no telling exactly where he will end up in the rankings, but then again, who knows where the Detroit Tigers will be picking.

Mulé is committed to play his collegiate ball with the Miami Hurricanes down in the 305, but he’ll likely be taking his talents to the big leagues as a high-first rounder. He’s a shortstop and right-handed pitcher with plenty to enjoy.

7-15-21 - Tyler Jennings @TylerJennings24

Nazier Mule hasn't had the best of games at the plate, but he launches this ball. Missed going out by a foot. Strong arm shown in the field as he threw out AJ Nessler trying for a triple earlier. Oh and he'll be pitching later too

23 Oakland Athletics Nazier Mule SS 6'1" 180 Passaic County Tech HS (NJ)

7-9-21 - Ian Smith @FlaSmitty

After playing the entire game at SS, Nazier Mule pitches the bottom of the 9th.

Strikes out the side with a walk living a ho hum 96-98 T99, and nasty offspeed.

The best two-way player in the 2022 class

4-27-21 - PG

Nazier Mule, SS (N.J.)

6-3/205, R/R

Commitment: University of Miami

PG Events: 53 events

Key Stats: 70 games, .364-2-55 with a 1.004 OPS

Short Story: When it comes to tools, Mule may be on an island by himself. He has a mid-90s fastball, huge bat speed, and very good upside in the field. It’s just an enormous ceiling.

Big Moment: At the 16U Mid-Atlantic World Series, Mule ran his fastball up to 94 (since up to 96) while doing big damage with the bat hitting .400 with a couple of doubles and a couple of walks. That’s a fairly loud statement for a 15-year-old.

Bold Prediction: The former PG Select Festival participant makes it impossible to predict if he ends up on the mound or as a position prospect. He performs in the way to make scouts ponder his future on both sides.

15. Nazier Mule - RHP/SS

Bio:

Height: 6-3

Weight: 205 lbs

Hits/Throws: R-R

Hometown: Paterson, New Jersey

School: Passaic County Tech (NJ)

Elite level two-way athlete. Up to 97 off the mound from a short, low 3/4 arm slot. Presents top of the class bat speed and plus, maybe double-plus raw power. Has shown he can get into it against competition at times. Hands work well on the infield though his body likely moves him to third base at the next level.

11-27-20 - PG -

Mule has tools across the board to go with a lean and strong 6-foot-3, 205 pound bui

l1-8-21 - Prospects Live -

d.  Many think his future is on the mound, as Mule has been up to 96 mph on the mound to go with a power slider that is a potential plus pitch.  He didn’t leave New England during the summer and fall, so he hasn’t been seen as much as some of his peers.

Interesting. Me? I’d take a 20 Mule Team.
