BINGHAMTON, NY – Jose Butto pitched six scoreless innings for a third straight start leading the Rumble Ponies to a 4-1 win over the Hartford Yard Goats (29-59) on Saturday night at Mirabito Stadium (Box Score). Binghamton (39-48) scored three runs in the fifth and one in the sixth to win their third straight game.
Butto (3-0) allowed only two hits over six with one walk and eight strikeouts to lower his ERA to 1.86 in five starts with Binghamton. He also has a twenty-inning scoreless streak dating back to July 27. Rumble Ponies pitchers have now allowed two runs or less in 11 of the last 12 games.
In the fifth, the Ponies loaded the bases with one out on two singles and an error. Quin Brodey drove home the game's first run with a sacrifice fly to center. Then with first and second and two out, Edgardo Fermin hit a two-run double to right-center to score Matt Winaker and Luis Carpio to give the Ponies a 3-0 lead.
With two outs in the sixth, Carlos Rincon belted a solo homer over the left-field wall to give the Ponies a 4-0 lead, his 6th home run since joining the team. Rincon finished 2-2 with a walk.
Tommy Wilson also pitched two perfect innings of relief with three strikeouts. Hartford scored their lone run in the ninth on an error.
The Ponies look to win the six-game series with the Yard Goats on Sunday afternoon with first pitch at 1:05 PM.
POSTGAME NOTES: Jake Mangum finished 2-3 to extend his on-base streak to 17 games…Brodey has driven home a run in back-to-back games. The Ponies have won by a 4-1 tally in consecutive games.

Is there any info available on Mark Vientos, and why he hasn't plaued in almost 2 weeks? He was removed from a game after hitting into a 1st inning DP, and I haven't seen anything about the reason and his ETA.
