Dylan Tebrake should get some love from we old Mets fan chaps, too.
The 6’3”, 225 righty was a dazzling 21-5 with Creighton before the Mets grabbed him in the 8th round in 2022.
A few IL stints in 2023 cost him 6 weeks and limited his 2023 pro innings, but he finished out the season pitching, so hopefully his baseball health is much better in 2024.
60 innings in relief in 2024 would be nice.
Tebrake in 2022 and 2023 got in 22 games, fired 36 innings, went 2-1, 2.27 ERA, with 55 Ks and NO homers allowed, and briefly pitched in AA.
Apparently he throws 95. Not bad.
From Creighton University’s web sit as it concerns Tebrake:
2021 (Sophomore)
- In his second year as the Bluejays’ ace, Tebrake went a perfect 8-0 in 12 starts (72.2 innings) with 75 strikeouts while holding opponents to an .220 average in 72.2 innings of work.
- Dylan was named BIG EAST Pitcher of the Year and First Team All-BIG EAST after posting a 1.52 ERA with a 5-0 record in six starts against conference opponents.
- In his 41.1 innings pitched in the BIG EAST, Tebrake punched out 46 and permitted an opponent average of just .171.
- Tebrake was nearly untouchable in April, not allowing a run in his first three starts of the month with just eight hits allowed to 17 strikeouts across that 19.1 inning span.
- Dylan earned BIG EAST Pitcher of the Week after throwing a seven-inning complete game shutout on April 23 at Georgetown with eight strikeouts, yielding only three base runners.
- Tebrake closed out April with another career performance in a home win over St. John’s (April 30), allowing just one run behind a career-bests 8.1 innings pitched and nine strikeouts.
- Dylan tossed 8.0 shutout innings with six strikeouts in a win over Seton Hall on May 14.

SMH, it appears the gap is a canyon. Why did the Blue Jays fire Anthopoulos again? Idiots! He would have been the Yankees’ problem!

The Braves have a far worse farm system than the Mets
Parada. Rocker is a two pitch pitcher that was injured. The Mets instead used the opportunity to draft a star catcher and try to develop him. He isn’t injured and he is putting in his work to learn like all catchers do. It’s no comparison.

This was a very interesting profile Tom. It appears that many organizations hold back on the press that some of their prospects get to avoid the pressure or the attention of other teams. For example, Montero got all the love but he and DeGrom came up together. The support group of prospects is what teams use to trade, such as the Dodgers just did with the Cubs.
I think we have a nice selection of pitching prospects in our pipeline.

Tom, I wish you'd use a different handle than "anonymous". Even if you just chose "Tomonymous", we'd know if it was you posting instead of the other multiple anonymouses here.
Please consider it. And the same request is for the other anonymouses.
A rotation is simply 5 guys + backups. A team with an excellent Top 3, even with mediocre backups (think Seaver/Kooz/Matlack) can go a long way. And every year there are top SPs who become FAs. As long as an owner is willing/able to spend, the farm becomes less significant, though it's good yo have a productive one.

Ray, I agree. How MLB ranks, not sure but the top 2 Braves arms are ranked around 50 and 90, and none of our arms are in the Top 100. Never a criticism of our guys, my disappointments are directed at the hierarchy.
