The second game of the series between the Savannah Sand Gnats and the West Virginia Power was played Friday evening at Grayson Stadium.
The game started out as a pitching duel between two lefties, Power Nathan Baker and Gnats James Fuller.
Baker struck out 7, but left the game in the 5th when he could not retire anyone. Kai Gronauer started off the 5th with a walk, Luis Rivera reached second on a 2 base error. Alonzo Harris then singled scoring the two runs. Pedro Zapata doubled to score Harris. Zapata scored when Rafael Fernandez singled.
In the 7th inning, the Gnats scored their fifth run when Zapata walked and scored when Fernandez doubled.
Sand Gnat starting pitcher, Fuller, looked sharp, striking out the side in the 1st. He pitched 6 innings, walked one, struck out 6, and gave up 2hits and did not allow a run.
The Sand Gnats had 8 hits for the game-Flores and Fernandez were both 2-4 with a single and double each.
