Mets prospect Gonzalez Germen threw eight shutout innings against Burlington on Saturday, which matched his longest outing since coming to the States in 2009. The Dominican-born righty gave up six hits but refused to allow a walk, and he struck out eight. Gonzalez's ERA has steadily decreased since ballooning up to 6.75 with an ugly July 3 outing, and after his latest gem, it's down to a respectable 3.69. He has 54 strikeouts and 11 walks over 61 innings pitched this season.
