Draft 14 – J.D. Davis, Michael Conforto, Gunnar Troutwine, Monte Harrison, Luke Bonefield

2-19 – TTF - 10 college players on the rise - J.D. Davis, OF, Cal State Fullerton (43)  Known for his plus power, the 6’-3”, 215 pound right-hander showed he should be one of the best overall bats available in the 2014 MLB draft come June. On Saturday, he went 4-for-6 with two triples and a home run, showing off some wheels in the process. Overall, he is 5-for-13 with four extra-base hits in three games. He drew 31 walks to just 37 strikeouts as a sophomore and has an advanced approach at the plate. He also has a canon arm and is playing right field this year for the Titans. http://throughthefencebaseball.com/2014-mlb-draft-10-college-players-rise/41224#Brkvtc4VfkP16udZ. 99

3-25-14 – MLB Draft Insider Mock – 20   Michael Conforto             OF/1B   Oregon State     - I’m still not entirely sold on Conforto as a first-round prospect, but to say that I’m in the minority is an understatement. His floor is high, and his approach at his plate is among the best in the sport, but the lack of tools concerns me. http://mlbdraftinsider.com/2014/03/the-board-2014-volume-ii/

2-18-14 - For most high school baseball players, becoming a major league player is only a dream. Senior Gunnar Troutwine could come one step closer to making that dream a reality on June 5, when professional teams begin selecting from top baseball prospects coming out of high school and college in the 2014 MLB draft. Currently, Troutwine is committed to play Division I baseball for the Wichita State University Shockers next fall. Like many high school recruits, the decision to go pro or attend college will not be certain until the draft. Troutwine is listed at 6-foot-2 and 210 pounds.  He recently ran a 60-yard dash in 6.68 seconds, rare at the catcher position. http://smeharbinger.net/sports/senior-up-for-mlb-draft

1-3-14 – TTF Baseball - 50. Milwaukee Brewers — Monte’ Harrison, OF, Lee’s Summit HS (MO) - A two-sport star, the 6’-2”, 200 pound right-hander may be a tough sign as he is one of the top wide receivers in the country and has a scholarship to play at Nebraska. On the diamond, he has plus speed (6.65/60), a plus arm (97 mph from the outfield) and has developed into a solid hitter, and his size suggests more power will come. Over 83 at-bats as a junior, he hit .457 with 12 doubles, three triples and six home runs. One of the more exciting players available with a ton of upside but football may get in the way. http://throughthefencebaseball.com/2014-mlb-draft-2/40753#ppGUqI6CbWFvzsPf.99

2-11-14 – PG/Florida HS Dream Team – Best Hitter For Average: Luke Bonfield, Sr. IMG Academy - There are a few categories among the top tools that were extremely close, with this being one of them. Jeremy Vasquez is very advanced with the bat, as is Bonfield, who started his hot hitting at the National Showcase last June and didn’t stop all summer. Bonfield set the tone for what he would do the rest of the summer in one of his first at-bats in Minnesota, barreling up a mid-80s slider from PG All-American righthander Luis Ortiz. He consistently squares up top pitching, showing gap power with more on its way. http://perfectgame.org/Articles/View.aspx?article=9372
