9-29-20  -  Joe Doyle from Prospects Live updated his draft and had this guy for the Mets pick at 1.10:

Adrian Del Castillo - C/1B/LF, Miami

It's difficult to know whom will be I charge of the Mets draft in 2021, and I'm not one to speculate. However, the pick makes sense here as Del Castillo is a high level college hitter with a chance to stick behind the plate long term. Regardless, the introduction the designated hitter in the National League may be right around the corner, a huge boost Del Castillo's who's value is planted within his bat. More walks than strikeouts both years at Miami, it might be the most complete college bat in the class.

Ian Smith Mock 1.0 posted his first mock and had the following player at 1.10:

10. New York Mets

The Pick- 3B/1B Alex Binelas • Louisville

            6’3” • 210lb

Mets potentially grab their third baseman of the future with this Wisconsin native. Binelas might be the best power threat at the college level in this class. He hit 14 home runs during his freshman season and produces MLB level exit velocities on nearly every ball he puts into play. Slight swing and miss with a higher K% as freshman, but the bat is loud enough to overcome as he continues his development. Very thick frame, will possibly slide to 1B or a corner OF as he matures, but shows the glove and instincts at the hot corner to stick there for now. Only played two games in a shortened 2020 season, so a massive spring could raise his stock even higher.

 Tyler Jennings - @TylerJennings24

Brady House - Winder-Barrow (GA) - Best prep player down in Fort Myers. Very good separation, mashed multiple triple digit exit velocities (as high as 108). Played 3B majority of time, good defense and strong arm. Likely will be where ends up

(I currently have House going 1.7 to the Royals)

11-11-20  - Marcelo Mayer - Eastlake HS (CA) - WWBA was a loud ending to Mayer's year. Got unlucky with hits, but showcased well with loud contact, power to all fields. Glove is good as well, very fluid motions at short.

Five Tool Baseball  @FiveTool

Won-Bin Cho is a 17-year-old power hitter who put on a mean display in the Power Showcase preliminary round. He walloped 15 jacks. The future is bright for the big time prospect. Five tool power.   6-2, 225 lbs. • CF

Ian Smith - @FlaSmitty

This is some real juice right here. Making Globe Life Park look small

Joe - @JoeDoyleMiLB

I tell you what, man. Ryan Spikes is going to surge before next July. Kid absolutely rakes. Top 2-Round talent.

 Prospects Live  - @ProspectsLive

Our Draft Content Director Joe Doyle sat down w/quite possibly the best catcher in the 2021 MLB Draft. Louisville C Henry Davis has a huge arm and one of the most impressive batted-ball profiles in the entire class. Huge up arrow next to his name.

 Perfect Game USA - @PerfectGameUSA

2021 RHP Jake Hunter (NC) was one of the rankings risers featured today. Hunter’s 2020 PG Tourney numbers: 34.2 IP, 15 H, 55 Ks, 8 BB!

 Phil Kerber - @PhilKerberPBR

Uncommitted ‘21 1B Ashton Long has a long, lanky 6-4, 195 frame, lots of room to fill out. Generates hard contact (97.44 EV) with quick hand speed (26.90 mph). Drives balls middle/pull.

 Liked what I saw from uncommitted ‘21 RHP/1B CJ Whaley  Physical 6-3, 205 pound frame, controlled zone w/ 3 pitches. K’d 5 of 6, no hits allowed.  FB: 84-85, T86  CB: 72-74   CH: 79-80

 11-11-20  -  Ian Smith - @FlaSmitty

Diving into more video on 2021 OF Thomas DiLandri today, and I can’t help but feel he’s being slept on. Simple, quiet swing with advanced barrel control and easy pop that’s produced a bunch of 100+ EVs. 55 runner with great routes and a plus arm in CF. Projectable frame.

2021 RHP Aaron Calhoun (TX) is electric on the mound. Smaller build at 5’11”, 170lb but will fill out as he matures. 91-93 T94 with easy mechanics and an extremely whippy arm. SL flashes plus with a sharp bite at 77-80. CB and CH are fringy, but CTL/CMD trending up.

Jose Fernandez - @JoseFer81084147

Jose Fernandez (2021, RHP) has committed to Ave Maria University. Jose will be joining his Brother Fernando. All three Brothers are now committed as @BIG_eddy13 previously committed to Miami.

Currently scheduled to be held during the All-Star week. Hopefully Baseball's changes tio the draft will help not hinder the growth of the game.

Since everyone has an opinion, I’ll share mine for free.

With the draft having so much pitching and the Mets needing much pitching, I’d do what the Royals did a few years back and take nothing but elite arms early. Now, the Royals have the most high end pitching talent in their system and I’d like to see the Mets do that. The best player available is a nice concept, but since no one has played much anyway, it’s hard to predict what you’ll see next year. Arms are mostly consistent, anyways.
