Joe @JoeDoyleMiLB
John was one of the nicest guys you'll ever meet. Hands down.
Ian Smith @FlaSmitty
This is just awful news. John has been one of the nicest, hard working people I’ve ever interacted with in this industry. Loved the minor leagues more then anyone I knew, and we lost a great one today. My condolences to the entire Calvagno family

The all-new MLB Draft League was announced today by @MLB and @prepbaseball. The first-of-its kind league in OH, PA, WV & NJ will focus on top prospects eligible to be drafted, giving players the opportunity to showcase their abilities & gain exposure to MLB Clubs & fans. link
Prospects Worldwide Mock Draft posted their first mock draft of the season. Here is who they had the Mets picking at 1.10:
10. SS Marcelo Mayer
School: East Lake HS, CA | Commit: USC | B / T: L / R | Ht: 6’3 | Wt: 188lbs | Age: 18.5
An all-around good athlete, with some room to add some good weight/strength to the frame. Pair that with one of the better approaches and a Plus (60) Hit Tool. Showing a smooth, consistent swing with jump off the bat from the left side. However, the bat path is rather flat but has been showing more loft as of late and projects for League-Average (50) Power, with the potential for more as he tinkers with his bat path as he enters pro ball to tap into that power more consistently.
As good as he is in the box, he shows equally as solid defensively at SS as a (55) Defender with a (60) Arm that’s capable of making most any throw on the infield.

How about a Top 25 for third base...
Here's where I'm currently at. Not a ton of *true* third basemen in this class, though several infielders will undoubtedly be forced to shift right. Lots of talent. More athleticism than in years past. Lots of ball to be played.
Let's do left-handed pitchers. My Top 31. Good depth, especially as it pertains to preps in 2021. Better stuff than usual on LHP side. Raw, unrefined. Expect a few of these guys to challenge for round one consideration by next July. Particularly fond of the Top 5 guys. link
We've got a big one for you, folks. How about a little Christian Franklin for your feed. The Arkansas OF is a big deal in the 2021 MLB Draft. He should find his name called very, very early. See why he likens his game to Mr. Mookie Betts...

RHP Marcelo Perez could evolve as a weekend starter, but the TCU staff also likes him as a potential shutdown reliever out of the pen with his electric FB 93-96 and up to 97. He has a good slider and continues to develop the changeup.
@marceloperezz_
2020 TCU stat line - 6-appearances, 1-0, 2.84, 6.1-IP, 9-K
Wabash Valley BSB - @WVCBASEBALL
Not only can Kyle Westfall run, he can run the ball out of both sides of the park.
Ian Smith - @FlaSmitty
Been a big fan of Westfall since seeing him rake at IMG. Impact player in the outfield, with a plus run tool and hit tool that’s not far behind. Watch out for his name in my

@kdubwesty
11-30-20 - Prospects Live @ProspectsLive
Georgia RHP Jonathan Cannon will be in the first round conversation for next July's MLB Draft thanks to a FB that touches 97, and his accompanying 4-pitch arsenal. At 6-foot-6, it's a great frame.

BREAKING
'21 OF Malakhi Knight (Marysville Getchell) has committed to UCLA baseball. @MalakhiKnight
Huge addition for the Bruins as Knight ranks 16th overall in our updated 2021 rankings
Tyler Jennings @TylerJennings24
Well this is a little bit of a surprise. Flips from Oregon State to UCLA. Knight had a great summer campaign, very Ryan Braun-esque swing and the power is coming around. Currently at #45 on PL's Top 300

2021 Josh Randall (CA) has a 95 mph fastball and big power in his bat! Interview with the Arizona baseball commit from the WWBA World Championship

Condolences to the Calvagno family and friends.
SO much talent in this draft.
I would be surprised if the Mets picked a SS with their first pick, but if he is that talented, he should be considered. Player with the highest ceiling is the best way to go long term.
Anyone with Gavin Cecchini talent should not be drafted before rounds 5-10.
I too would question picking a shortstop. I think there should be an exception to the 'best player available' unwritten rule here.
Mack, I agree - unless this guy comes up at the Mets' slot and is demonstrably superior to anyone still on the board, no more shortstops for a while!
