Colina who sined without a Spring Training invite. “The Mets are also
plenty familiar with Tovar, who signed with them as a 16-year-old in 2008 and
remained in the organization until '15. The slick-fielding Tovar has played 40
career games in the Majors, including 31 with the Angels in '19.” As we have
noted here at Mack’s Mets Wilfredo is playing in Venezuela this Winter where he
is hitting .301 in 73 at bats, 22 hits, 12 walks.

I’m with Ernest Dove on the trade... sub out Allen and put in Peterson and let’s do it!
I agree . .Allan and Alvarez are my two absolute untouchables. I would really hate to see them trade one of their young outfielders they drafted last year, either.
I cannot see the Reds taking Peterson, Baty, and Rosario for Castillo. Maybe Wolf.
I would hope he would turn out better than the last Luis Castillo that came our way.
Seven years control of a MLB pitcher that has had some success is easy to sneer at? I don’t know about that...
I see your point, but the promise of Allan is a top of the rotation guy. Perhaps I am underestimating, but I see Peterson's ceiling as a #3 or a solid #4. His minor league stats are not eye-popping.
Wouldn't it be nice to sign another guy named Springer on 12/22 this year?

I have no idea where Tovar would fit with the Mets in 2021, even if he has improved.

In my mind I continue to have only Allan and Alvarez as untouchables. Maybe add PCA only because damn he just got here.
I certainly dont want farm decimated more than Brodie already did to it but if you can obtain a star ish caliber player UNDER age 30 with multiple years of control it needs serious consideration.
I agree with you about obtaining a player the quality of Castillo. The Mets last brought up an outfielder that has come through their system in 2016 (Nimmo). The next one will be in either 2023 (fastpath) or 2024. That is too long.
The last words I heard about PCA is that he is already a major-league caliber defender in centerfield with a lot of promise with the bat. That defense and speed is what has been missing and what I really appreciate about baseball.
I also heard a very high report on Isaiah Greene. I would love to see him progress St. Lucie and Brooklyn and see him in Binghamton before they trade him off.
