Not to pick on Ernest, whose work i enjoy and look forward to, but I’m kind of tired of hearing all the Alonso worshipers. And since this is about Alonso, I park that here because Anthony Rendon and Kris Bryant were way better than Alonso when they signed their huge deals. And, where has Alonso been all these years?
That's also my thing as far as wanting him to stay but not for 5+ years guaranteed.
Thank you Ernest. I like him and cannot blame him for wanting as much as he can get, but I’m not obligating Cohen and Co. to break the bank for him like so many others do.

Frankly, I have grown to really hate lengthy contracts to 30+ players
Draft and scout better than follow the Braves template of extending your talent in their 20s up to 30
Tex we have to just hope Soto, Nimmo, Alonso (not sure their not resigning him) and Lindy don't add to that list but we all know it most likely will get ugly in the not so distant future. Our only hope is Stevies big bucks to buy out those contracts but time will tell.
