Tibbs looks good, however the strike outs are high. If his defense is good, we could live with the strike outs. The Dodgers have a very strong minor league system and have the assets to trade.

Hopefully, Luke Adams can be a totally forgotten player to be named later in the Peralta trade. I know, I am dreaming.

Isn't it mandatory that first baseman strike out alot?

Nice dream

Freeman isn't going to play forever. If Tibbs is their guy to replace him, forget about seeing him in a Mets uniform.. While we are being a bit off the wall, one of the few teams that makes sense for Lindor in a trade is the Dodgers, which will allow them to move Betts to aother of the positions he is capable of. The Dodgers are amazing performers when you realize that they don't have a top flight player at either 3B or 2B, and are getting more out Pages than they have in the past and have some aging outfielders other than Tucker and Pages. Muncy is super clutch player but not top tier. I think it is about time someone gave Dave Roberts the credit he obviously deserves. They know how to win. Have super clutch professional players and Ohtani of course

IMO

It would take a bigger piece than the Mets would offer to snag Tibbs

Don’t forget those are PCL numbers, and the Dodgers ace these numbers often.

First base is the easiest position to fill. There is a reason that WAR gives negative defensive value to first base and demands higher offensive output to build up the score. Still, a strong consistent producer at first base is what every lineup needs to build around.

But, look at Michael Busch: the Cubs got him with better numbers than Tibbs and he has been good, but not great. So, I’d like to see what is out there but I would also like to see Chris Suero at first base every game. Stop the rotating of positions and let the kid focus on one. The opening in the system may be a gift for him and I like his tools.

This is a great post - thank you for doing the research. At this point, Mets fans are wondering what we can do about the conundrum at first base.
