Comments By Nelson Figueroa's Wife Re: DFA

It's hard to find anyone in "Met-world" that understood the DFAing of Nelson Figueroa, especially his wife, who left these comments on their family blog:
"So Nelson was not released. Calm down. He was designated for assignment. The team is hoping, should he clear waivers, that he'll report to Buffalo. The team has told him he's proven he's more than comfortable pitching at the big league level and they wouldn't hesitate to call him up again during the season, should he clear waivers and accept assignment. Please don't call to ask if we've heard from any teams during the 72 hours (which will end Wednesday evening). We haven't. They can't call us and we can't talk to them about potential jobs. Please don't ask "how we're feeling". Here it is - Dazed and Confused. Nelson is upset. He did what is asked of any starting pitcher in baseball - he gave them a quality start and kept them in the game. He did not expect to be told that wasn't good enough and that they needed to make a move and he was that move."
Let's hope Nelson finds peace in the baseball world, hopefully with the team we all root for, or with someone that will give him the opportunity to pitch again in the majors.

Mack,

Omar had developed quite the reputation as a players GM, I rem. several players over his four years coming here specifically because of him and the way they were treated.

I even rem. becoming extremely fustrated with what seemed to be overly loyal behavior specifically towards Glavine as he waffled over where to play.

But since say the Church incident it seems that things have been treated much more like a business. I don't like it and I don't think in the long run it will help the bottom line.

Mack,
Figgy cleared waivers and chose to file free agency instead of reporting to Buffalo. With the way he was treated on Sunday, what would you expect?
