Look For 2B Prospects To Move Up
There simply is too much going on at the lower levels of the system right now.
Savannah has a particularly wonderful problem. Jefry Marte (.314) was named the starting 3Bman for the Gnats, 3B went to Wilmer Flores (.314) and 2B fell to Josh Satin (.440). As you can tell from the batting averages, these were the right decisions.
Then, along comes some kid named Jordany Valdespin (actually, he had a decent season last year for the GCL Mets), who is now batting first, hitting .355, and he plays 2B also.
Last night, Satin moved over to third, and Marte DH'd.
All four of these guys deserve a field position... so someone has to move up.
My guess... St. Lucy's Greg Veloz (.325) will bump up to the B-Mets, making room for either Satin or Valdespin.
The B-Met's current 2Bman, Matt Bouchard, would then go utility.
