Will Morgan:
RP Will Morgan was released by the New York Mets. He was a 12th round pick in the 2007 draft and went straight to Brooklyn after signing, where he turned heads, striking out 39 in 35.2 innings. He had a 5.6 H/9, a WHIP of 0.84, and he was on “keep an eye of” list by the end of the year. In 2007, Morgan was the glue that held the Brooklyn Cyclones bullpen together. Posting an uber-impressive 2.02 ERA with 39 strikeouts in 22 relief appearances in 2007, Morgan was a NY-Penn League All-Star and one of the most dominant relievers in the league In 2009, Morgan pitched for both the GCL Mets (0-0, 0.00 in 3 appearances, 7-K, in 4.0-IP), and St. Lucie (1-1, 2.70, in 2 appearances, 4-Ks in 3.1-IP. His combined professional stats over three seasons are: 4-1, 1.91, 0.85, in 30 appearacnes, 53-Ks in 47.0-IP, and only 9-BB.
-there has to be a story here we will never get to hear... was it an injury... was it age... the kid did little wrong... solidly entrenched in the high 40s on my "Keepers" list...
Jorge Julio:
Way back in 2002, Julio put together a dominant season for the Orioles out of the bullpen by sporting a minuscule 1.99 ERA and saving 25 games. But Julio was never able to produce those numbers again at the major league level and since 2006, Julio has bounced around the majors. - linlk
Drew Butera:
On April 9, Drew Butera made his major-league debut for the Minnesota Twins and became the 24th Brooklyn Cyclone ever to play in Major League Baseball. Butera was drafted by the Mets in the 5th round of 2005 draft, out of the University of Central Florida. He spent his first professional season in Brooklyn, where he hit .217 in 55 games with the Cyclones, with one home run and 23 RBI. Butera was dealt to the Twins on July 30, 2007, along with Dustin Martin in a trade that sent second baseman Luis Castillo to the Mets. The former Cyclone will serve as backup to Joe Mauer—one of the game’s top players. - link

He was DFA’ed by the Mets on April 5th along with starter/reliever Nelson Figueroa, who was subsequently claimed by the Phillies.

Boy, this one hurts... no one, in the history of the Mets franchise, fought back from major surgeries, to no avail... a postitive leader in the clubhouse, he will be sorely missed, but we all wish him well as he finally will get an opportunity to strut his stuff..
