There's a 1000 ways of predicting this, but this is how I see it right now:
2011 2012 2013 2014 2015
1B Davis Davis Davis Davis Davis
2B Murphy Havens Havens Havens Havens
SS Reyes Tejada Flores Flores Flores
3B Wright Wright Wright Wright Wright
LF Bay Bay Bay Gomez Gomez
CF Beltran Pagan Puello Puello Puello
RF Pagan Duda A-Rod A-Rod A-Rod
C Thole Thole Thole Thole Thole
SP Santana Santana Santana Urbina Urbina
SP Pelfrey Pelfrey Pelfrey Pelfrey Pelfrey
SP Niese Niese Niese Niese Niese
SP Dickey Harvey Harvey Harvey Harvey
SP Gee Mejia Mejia Mejia Mejia
Some thoughts:
1. The team does need more.
2. The future of first base depends on the production by Davis. Wright would move here around 2014 if Davis falters.
3. The team would be stronger if Reyes is resigned. This would move Flores to the outfield.
4. A high draft pick for a catcher would seem the right choice.
5. One more high end starter out of the 2011 draft would greatly strengthen the roation, around 2014.
6. This kind of projection exposes the weakness of the Mets' outfielders in the system.

No Kirk Niuwenhuis in the outfield? Mark Cohoon as Sp or RP?
All this Puello talk recently. +OBP, +arm, great speed...I get it. But why hasn't he been playing CF (where you place him)?
Morning.
I like Captain Kirk but I only project him (like many others) as a 4th outfielder.
Re Cohoon... I listed no RPs... but I do believe he has the talent to make the Mets pen by 2012
Hobie:
Maining because the old Mets brass gave CF to den Dekker.
You can't go wrong drafting CFers and the Mets have a bunch of them right now, but one of the reasons Puello is now the top OF prospect is the fact that the other minor league outfielders only project out as 4th OFers or too earlt to tell/not enough tools to project
