On the less spectacular side,
UCLA right-hander Adam Plutko really struggled
to command anything, and the mechanics have digressed since his prep days. I
thought Plutko would be a potential first-rounder when he chose school in 2010,
but that decision doesn’t seem to have paid off at this point. - http://mlbdraftinsider.com/2012/07/thoughts-from-the-prospect-classic/
1B: Zach Stoner, Rockford
Boylan HS - The 6-foot-3, 195-pound Stoner possessed perhaps the state’s purest
left-handed swing. His athleticism and ability to hit for power from the left
side led him to being selected in the 12th round of the MLB Draft by the
Chicago White Sox. Stoner signed shortly after the draft, foregoing his
scholarship to Southern Illinois University. http://www.prepbaseballreport.com/news/IL/PBR-2012-All-State-Teams-released-2356974108#.T_fCBkz4LU0.twitter

Once again, Nick Dalesandro heads a talented group of prospects in
the Class of 2015 updated and expanded rankings. Dalesandro made an impact as a
freshman for Joliet Catholic Academy in many different capacities. He excels in
several different positions, but on the mound he has a chance to be special. After
Dalesandro, the list of prospects isn’t from the typical powerhouse programs.
In fact, players hail from schools that have never had a ranked prospect in
eight years. For example, Westmont
SS/RHP Charlie Donovan, who is the No. 2-ranked
prospect, and Elmwood Park RHP Joe Uvelli, who
is the No. 3-ranked player. http://www.prepbaseballreport.com/news/IL/Updated-Class-of-2015-Player-Rankings-3625198704#.T_sRieMhcYM.twitter

Bobby Wahl - What an experience it's been in Cuba. I'll
remember it for the rest of my life! Had an amazing stay! Back 2 America in the
AM
Peter Gammons - The hyperbole of college junior pitchers
saying they'll go back to school rather than accept $3-4M sounds like the hum
of an air conditioner
