AAA – Buffalo:

RHP Collin McHugh is making his fifth start as a Bison and his first against the IL North division. McHugh is coming off his best start with Buffalo, a no-decision last Tuesday where he struck out a season-high 10 batters in six innings of work.

Sandy Alderson said on SNY that Josh Edgin would be promoted before July 31 so Mets can see what they have before deadline

Matt den Dekker and Josh Satin hit a homer against John Maine (6-R, 7.15). They game goes in all directions, doesn’t it?

Den Dekker actually had a great AAA game: 3-5, 1-R, 1-HR, 3-RBI… BA soars to .211

Jenrry Mejia, Elvin Ramirez, and Josh Edgin combined for zero runs. Life is good

Possible Injury Alert - Mejia was hit hard from a line drive on his right leg below his knee .

AA-Binghamton:  

RHP Gonzalez Germen (4-6, 4.03) makes his tenth start as a B-Met and third against the Curve. Germen suffered the loss in his last start versus Altoona on July 2. The righty allowed five runs (three earned) and matched a season-high with eight hits allowed over seven innings. He fanned six and walked two. The righty beat the Curve on June 15. Germen was promoted from St. Lucie (High-A) on May 4 after going 3-0 with a 3.04 ERA in five games (four starts) with St. Lucie.

RHP Brandon Cumpton (8-6, 3.13) takes the mound for his 17th start and third against the B-Mets. Cumpton took a no-decision in his last game versus Binghamton on July 3. He allowed one run on four hits over five innings in a game the B-Mets would win 3-2. Cumpton matched up against Germen on June 15 and earned the loss, allowing four runs  on six hits over 5.1 innings. Selected in the 9th round of the 2010 draft out of Georgia Tech, he is in his first year with the Curve.

Sandy Alderson said he would like to see Zack Wheeler "dominate" in a couple more AA starts before moving him to AAA, but promotion soon

The B-Mets in general, and RP Jeff Stevens (0.0-IP, 4-R) in particular, tried to lose this game, but RP Ryan Fraser (0.2-IP, 0-R, H-3) would have nothing to do with it.

Big start… five runs in the 1^st inning backed up by two each in the 8^th and 9^th

First the home runs… LF Rafael Fernandez (.262) hit his 5^th… SS T.J. Rivera (.284) hit his first A+ homer.

This was Raffy’s game: HR, triple, 4-RBI, and one run scored.

RP Jack Leathersich (4.21) put up numbers like he used to do in Brooklyn and Savannah: 2.0-IP, 0-R, 5-K

It was 4-4 through 12, and then Jared West (6.75) gave up four runs, aided by a throwing error by 3B Aderlin Rodriguez

RP Chason Bradford (1.60) remains one of the best kept secret. This is a 35^th round draft pick out of Central Florida where he also came out of the pen. Had 21 outings last year with Kingsport – 3.51, 33.1-IP,  37-K, 7-BB. This year in Savannah: 31.1-IP, 26-K, 7-BB.  Turns 23 next month.
