 PG -

Sergio Guerra is a 2021 C/SS with a 6-0 200 lb. frame from San Diego, TX who attends San Diego. Strong catcher's build with good physical maturity. 7.15 runner in the sixty, has nice body life behind the plate, explodes out of his crouch well blocking and throwing, has big arm strength and will throw out runners, chance to really stand out defensively. Athletic enough to play left side infield as well. Right handed hitter, hits from a leg lift trigger that can be late getting down, short inside path to the ball with exaggerated length out front.

 Talking Chop -

Sergio Guerra, C - I had no idea who Sergio Guerra was at the start of the spring, but upon watching PG Nationals I was immediately sold. The shortstop conversion is very athletic for the backstop position and brings high end defense, both in terms of his potential receiving skills and his arm- and those skills will only continue to improve with more work behind the plate. The bat also shows real pop to it as well. Guerra has a higher floor and higher ceiling than some of those catchers ranked above him on other sites, and with performances like these will only continue to move up. Arguably my favorite sleeper in the class since I first watched him at the start of the spring.

Mack's spin -

Guerra has only begun to play behind the plate and he has impressed everyone as a potential superior defensive catcher.

It's impossible to project his bat that this point, but great defensive catchers are always drafted higher that other positions because each affiliate needs three catchers to help train the pitching staff there.

He will be drafted on Day 2, but I think there is a good chance he will go the college route.
