One of the youngest players in the high school class, Colleran will still be 17 on draft day and doesn’t turn 18 until Aug. 20. Colleran has a large and filled out 6-foot-3, 230-pound frame with a long arm stroke and low slot. While he has some reliever risk because of his delivery, Colleran has loud pure stuff. He was up to 95 mph at East Coast Pro and showed feel for both a slider and a changeup. The slider sits in the low 80s and has some sharpness to it in the 2400-2500 rpm range. The changeup is firm in the mid 80s. Colleran has shown a surprising amount of strikes with all three of his pitches. He is committed to Northeastern.

Colleran made waves toward the end of the summer with his big velocity from the right side but he took it to another level in Fort Myers as he functioned as a super-reliever and earned MV-Pitcher honors. He’s got a big fastball that worked up to 96 mph and paired that with a wipeout slider to show he’s got very effective pure stuff.

8/10/20 - Closing things out in that game was Colleran, a Northeastern recruit. All he did was sit 94-97 in two innings, striking out two and allowing two hits. His breaking ball was inconsistent, showing cement mixer action at times, but it did flash average to above average at 82-85.

The top pitcher due to arrive at NU next fall is RHP Dennis Colleran of North Attleboro (Mass.).
He's starting to blow up as he's pitched for Perfect Game and currently pitching for the Northeast Regional team (Yankees) in the Area Code games ...
His fastball has reached 96 mph already and he's only 16 years old.

Colleran is one of the premier prep pitchers in the next draft and should be picked as one of the top 100 players.
I believe he has top rotation potential.
