Mack - Draft Thoughts: Austin Henry, Dylan Lesko, Peyton Graham, Hayden Dunhurst, Elijah Green

8-5-21 - Prospects Live

Austin Henry

Henry is a cold-weather arm from South Dakota who lit it up. He’s long, athletic and physical already at 6’5, 215lbs with some projection still remaining. It’s a terrific pitching frame with long limbs and a high waist. He operates solely from the stretch with a near-over the top arm slot and some effort in the delivery. The fastball sat in the upper 80s, touching 90, but it was the curveball that stole the show. It’s a true hammer with hard, steep break, great depth and RPMs north of 3000 - arguably one of the best pitches in the class. Henry kept hitters off balance throughout his outing and allowed no hard contact.

Mack's spin -

Don't have much on Henry at this point but, what I do have all says that his 12-6 hammer curve is the end all.

I am opening him up as my 29th RHP.

8-4-21 - Prospect Pipeline  @TheProsPipeline

Dylan Lesko

RHP, Buford High School Class of 2022.  Top ranked arm in the 2022 class and a Vandy Boys commit.  Sat mid 90's at PG National w/ breaking ball 79-81 (2700 RPM) and CH 82-84.

8-4-21 - Brian Sakowski @B_Sakowski_PG

Lesko is one of a 5-6 headed monster of prep arms atop the ‘22 class, and he might be the most polished of them all. Easy low-mid 90’s with FB command and a 70 CH, tons of strikes with good delivery. Breaker coming on, obviously plus raw spin on it already

Mack's spin -

I have him as my 3rd RHP behind Kumar Rocker and Bryce Osmond.

7-27-21 - Prospect Love Top 100 2022 Prospects -

25. Peyton Graham

Third Base, Oklahoma

Incredibly impressive freshman campaign hitting .368 and punishing the baseball. Played an exceptional third base in the abbreviated season. Graham was slowed a bit in 2021 by strikeouts, but the power took a step forward and he took his walks. It's a mature approach that suggests a fairly complete hitter moving forward. He's got a premier, projectable body that might move him to third base at the pro level, but he handles shortstop well for the time being.

 Mack's spin -

2021 Oklahoma stat line - 53-G, 215-AB, 58-K, 30-BB, .288, 11-HR

My 2nd 3B behind the newly listed Cam Collier.

7-20-21 - TTF -

Hayden Dunhurst, C, Mississippi

In 2021, Dunhurst hit .280 with 43 RBIs and a .385 OBP. If you ask him, he won’t settle for this. Expect big things from Dunhurst in 2022. He’s got amazing work ethic and well-rounded skills that make him hard to forget about. His arm strength is elite and he has refined his hitting tool that I’m excited to see when he enters the 2022 season as one of two great catching prospects.

Mack's spin -

2021 Ole Miss stat line - 65-G, 232-AB, 44-K, 32-BB, .280, .385-OBP, 7-HR

This is not a premier catcher draft like the past three years. And Dunhurst is not in the class of Kevin Parada.

Still, I have him on my catcher board at #3 behind Parada and Logan Tanner.

7-30-21 - Through The Fence  -

 Elijah Green

 OF, IMG Academy

Green, the early front-runner to go No. 1 next summer, has world-class potential. He’s a well-built outfielder with a variety of loud tools, including first-rate speed, light-tower power potential, and also an arm that has clocked into the 90s on the mound. Although Green has a promise to Miami, it would come as a shock if he decided to suit up for the Hurricanes.

Mack's spin -

Nothing has changed here. Still my number one overall pick.
