Baty Ks now up to league-leading 22. Wonder what goes on there.

In a high run league, the Mets 4 hitters have 1 HR between them, and combined are hitting about .235. Not good, frankly, but it is nonetheless a good learning experience. Cortes the best of the 4 so far.

I think a lot of the K's and Walks in Arizona have to do with the Robo-Ump/Automated strike zone. Overall, Baty has shown a very good eye at the plate in the games I have seen him play. However, he had a 29% K rate in 2019 and a 25% K rate last year. Both are considered Poor - Awful according to FanGraphs. This Fall he is at 39% - that is extremely bad but I still blame the robo umps.

I'm just gonna chalk it up to normal wear and tear on Baty who needed the extra games and ABs.

Nice interview. Nice to see the draft beefing up. Still expect the Mets to only have 2 number 1’s as Confirti and Syndergaard will both accept the QO.

You guys all follow prospects much closer than I do. I feel this AFL showing by all eight players will keep the Mets from needing to protect any of them from Rule 5. I believe Cortes, Holderman, Senger and Reyes are all eligible. I wouldn’t protect any of them.

What did y’all think of the Top 10 by BA? I did my own top 20 or so two weeks ago and the top 8 are the same for everyone, I suppose. After that, the next level can be in any order and there is a rather large drop in expectations. My first group of eight is followed by a group of about five that can be in any order and then a group of 7 that can also be in any order. How about some thoughts?

Gus - Diaz is one I missed as I usually don't look at the DSL stats. He had great numbers though. Funny how Robert Dominguez showed up on many people's top 10 prospect list last winter but then fell off this year after a tough time in the FCL. Tough to judge guys at such a young age in the DSL.

As far as the players you mentioned that are rule 5 eligible, they will probably be added to the triple A roster to keep them out of the minor league portion of the draft. Senger and Nick Meyer are both highly regarded defensive catchers. They could get picked so it would not surprise me if they get added to the 40 man
