Kelvim, Chevez Clark, Sheets... and Wang

Kelvim Escobar

Yesterday, it was reported that the Mets had offered Kelvim Escobar a minor league contract. There was even a report that he had accepted the deal but that was premature. Escobar has decided to wait and see if by pitching in the winter leagues he can earn a major league deal. He did say that the Mets have been very aggressive and because of fellow Venezuelans on the team, it is an appealing destination. As I've said before if he's healthy he's a very good pitcher, but after two years lost to injuries I can't see him getting a major league deal  -  Mets Fever

-Mack:  Figures... what do you expect from a dude that can't even spell his own first name correctly...

Q:  Between now and the Draft in June, what is one thing you trying to improve on?

Clark:  I am really working on my bunting. I have taken several days out of the month and did nothing but bunt.  -  2010mlbdraft.blogspot

-Mack - bunting ?  now, that's a switch...

Ben Sheets:

According to FOXSports.com's Ken Rosenthal, the Yankees are "very interested" in Ben Sheets but believe he is in no rush to sign. Sheets is reportedly seeking up to $12 million annually, which is quite the demand for a guy who hasn't pitched in a major league game since September of 2008. That said, he does offer a 3.72 career ERA and 1.20 career WHIP, and was one of the most dominant pitchers in baseball only a few years ago.  -  rotoworld

Mack:  It just seems like the rest of the league ought to sit back until the Yankees, Red Sox, Phillies, and LA teams are done...

Chien-Ming Wang:

So where is Omar Minaya during this signing trade frenzy? According to media reports the Mets GM is working on securing 33-year old, oft-injured starter Kelvim Escobar to a minor league contract deal. Escobar pitched a total of five innings for the Anaheim Angels in 2009. The Mets are also interested in former Yankee Chien-Ming Wang. Like Escobar, he has battled injuries the last two seasons. In 12 appearances (nine starts) in 2009, Wang was 1-6 with a 9.64 ERA. - fellow South Carolinian John Strubel.

wow- I was getting to like your page until I read this...

"Mack: And here I thought the Mets were just interested in sub-par Asians, like One Hung Low, and Suk Mi Dik "

If you were a 12 year old, or your audience were, that might amuse them...

sorry to offend you... it was meant as an "adult" joke, things "adult" comedians say to "adult" audience members...

Mack.

Mack- "adult" or not, racism is not "funny." Also, there is just no need to go through and create a whole google account, just to call you out on your inappropriate rhetoric.
