Madison Boer:
7-26 from: - link - Here are some names of draft eligibles for 2011 who have not been mentioned much and are definitely on the radar for 2011 MLB scouting depts. - RHP - Madison Boer, Oregon, 6'4 230, power arm and hard slider, command and consistent repeating of delivery key for Ducks' righty.
Bubba Starling:
7-27-10 from: - link - Bubba Starling, OF/RHP, Gardner-Edgerton (KS) HS - I unfortunately left Cary before Starling pitched at the Tournament of Stars, so I only saw him as a position player. From what I saw and from knowing that the University of Nebraska intends to use him as a primary outfielder and secondary reliever, I’ll list Starling first as an outfielder. He didn’t throw that well from right over the week, but he was accurate, got good reads on fly balls, and showed some bat-head ability from the right side. At 6’3”, 210 lbs, Starling will grow into big league power and runs average to plus, depending on whether you look at his home-to-first or his 60 yard-dash. Starling is actually a three-way prospect; he’s signed with Nebraska on a football scholarship to play quarterback.
Johnny Ruetigger:
7-27-10 from: - link - OF Johnny Ruetigger (Arizona State)- He is known as the nephew of the legendary Notre Dame football player Dan Ruetigger of whom the movie “Rudy” was based. He is also a force of his own on the diamond as he is hitting .338 with four doubles and three RBI in only 19 games this summer. He had a good season with the Arizona State Sun Devils, hitting .351 with four homers and drove in 35 runs this past season. He came onto the national scene during the 2009 CWS, batting .360 with a homer and 13 RBI as a part time player on the Sun Devils.
Ryan Wright:
7-28-10 from: - link - 3b-1b, Ryan Wright, Louisville, 6'0 200, Jr to be, R/R, solid glove, 55 arm, runs well on the way, power ability is there, moves laterally well enough to stay at 3b, is aggressive at the plate with good hand speed, nimble enough to potentially move to other IF positions for sure or OF if needed. Gamer! Ran 4.28 on IF single. Ryan can play several positions and profiles better at 2b and 3b, potential OF'er as well.
Daniel Camarena:
7-28 from: - link - Daniel Camarena (Bonita, Calif.) tossed five shutout innings to propel USA Baseball 18U National Team over France 16-0 Wednesday morning. USA posted team-best five home runs to improve to 5-0 in the 2010 IBAF World Junior "AAA" (18U) Baseball Championships. Camarena (1-0) rendered just two hits in five shutout frames. The left-hander struck out four and did not issue a walk.
