Day 3 report following Sunday nights game of the Cyclones defeating the Crosscutters 2-1 in 14 innings.
Blake Forsythe was awful to be as polite as I can about it. I wonder what the Mets were thinking when they drafted him in the 3rd round (89th overall) in the 2010 draft.
He has struck out an incredible 28 times in 69 AB's for a 40% rate! Compounding matters he appears he carries a bad at-bat to his defense.
It would be one thing if these swing and miss tendencies were an adjustment to the wood bat or the pro game, but according to Baseball America this has been an on-going issue.
If anyone should be upset it is Cory Vaughn who signed for $152K less than Forsthye. It just goes to show you mistakes are made by clubs. There are certainly other examples in this years draft which is a topic for another day.
