Bisons Activate RHP Yhency Brazoban
Herd places INF Andy Green on Temporary Inactive List
The Buffalo Bisons today announced that they have activated RHP YHENCY BRAZOBAN prior to their game against the Pawtucket Red Sox. INF ANDY GREEN has been placed on the temporary inactive list by the Herd.
Brazoban, 30, was signed by the Mets after appearing in 32 games for Diablos Rojos del Mexico of the Mexican League. The righty was 3-2 with a 1.25 ERA and two saves in 43.1 innings of work (30H, 7R, 6ER, 17BB, 46K) with Mexico this year. He did not allow a run in any of his final nine outings with the team and yielded just one run in his last 18 appearances with Diablos Rojos.
Brazoban has a career 10-12 record and a 4.70 ERA in 116 major league games, all with the Los Angeles Dodgers from 2004-2008. In 2005, he broke the Dodgers’ rookie records for appearances (75) and saves (21). Injuries limited the righty to just 52.1 innings of work in his final three seasons in the Dodgers organization. L.A. released Brazoban during spring training in 2009.
Brazoban was originally signed as a non-drafted free agent by the Yankees in 1997. The outfielder was then converted to a pitcher by New York in 2003 before being traded to the Dodgers in December 2003 in the four-player deal that sent RHP Kevin Brown to the Yankees.
