Top 5 San Francisco Giants Prospects For Jose

1. - The Giants’ top prospect, Brandon Belt, is a first baseman. The Mets would have no interest in him.

2. - OF Gary Brown – Was the number one pick in the 2010 draft. Currently hitting .369/.437/.530/.967 for A+/San Jose. Had low walk rate in college, but so far this year: 217-AB/19-BB/33-K. Also 5-HR and 39-RBIs in 51-G.

3. - 6-3 RHP Zack Wheeler – was the Giants 1st round pick in 2009. Currently pitching A+/San Jose: 4-2, 3.70, 62-K, 48.2-IP.

4. - OF Francisco Peguero – Hit .329 for A+/San Jose in 2010, with 4-0-steals. Gap power. – could have been an option, but he had knee surgery in April and is off the trade table.

5. - OF Thomas Neal – currently hitting .375/.437/.563/.999 in AAA, but just 64-AB. Not projected as a “star outfielder”. Think Kirk Nieuwenhuis.
