Mets Minor League Report – April 23

Savannah (10-8) romps 9-1 over Delmarva (11-8)
Luis Cessa (W, 2-0) excelled over 6.0 innings: 0 R, 5 H, 0 BB, 7 K.
Brandon Nimmo: 1-4, BB, 2 R, now hitting .414
Jayce Boyd: 2-4, 2B, 2 RBI, R, now hitting .394
Kevin Plawecki: 1-3, BB, RBI, now hitting .379
Greg Pron: 1-4, 2B, 2 RBI.
Phillip Evans: 1-4, 2B, 2 RBI, R.
Eudy Pina: 2-4, RBI, R.

St. Lucie (12-7) edged by Charlotte (8-11) 3-2
Noah Syndergaard certainly pitched well enough to win (6.0 IP, 1 R, 0 ER, 3 H, 2 BB, 4 K) but was let down by the pen. It wasn’t that the relief pitchers pitched poorly, but they did let the  game slip away. Estarlin Morel (L, 1-2) allowed one hit in his one inning of work, a HR. He was followed by Hamilton Bennett, who also allowed one run on a walk and a hit in his inning.
Dustin Lawley: 2-4, HR, RBI, R.
Matt Reynolds: 1-4, 2B, R.

Portland (11-7) sneaks by Binghamton (10-9) 9-8
Binghamton jumped out to an early 5-0 lead in the first 2 innings, but couldn’t hold on to the lead. After 5 innings it was tied 6-6 and after 8 innings it was tied 8-8. The B-Mets had runners on 2nd and 3rd with one out in the top of the 10th, but were unable to score. Portland scored the winning run with 2 out in the bottom of the 10th on a wild pitch.
 Tyler Pill did not look good. 4.0 IP, 4 ER, 7 H, 4 BB, 3 K.
Adam Kolarek  did not fare much better. 2.2 IP, 4 R, 2 ER, 3 H, 2 BB.
Jack Leathersich looked like last year’s Leather Man. 2.1 IP, 0 R, 0 H, 1 BB, 3 K
John Church was the goat, pitching the 10th inning, giving up a double and then a wild pitch with 2 out to allow the winning run to score.
 Darrell Ceciliani: 2-5, 2B, 2 R, 2 SB.
Blake Forsythe 2-4, 2B, BB, R.
Allan Dykstra 1-3, 2B, 2 BB, 2 RBI.
Alonzo Harris had 2 more stolen bases, bringing his total to 8 in the first 19 games of the season.
