1- RHSP Zack Wheeler – A – He just needs to work on his
control which he is doing in the pitcher unfriendly PCL. He couldn’t pick a
better league to practice in. Will be the SP2 behind Matt
Harvey for years.
2 - C Travis d’Arnaud – A
- dD is ready, he’s just injured.
His delay to Queens will be extended to rehab his ankle and there is a good
chance he could be gone most of this season, but this is not a young guy out of
high school. He’s ready.
3 - CF Brandon Nimmo – A – on fire in Savannah, should fast
track to St. Lucie real soon and possibly on to Binghamton by the end of the
season. Has that Bryce Harper look to him. A
very special player.
4 - 2B Wilmer Flores – B+
- Scouts are raving about his
controlled bat at the AAA level. He also is doing fairly well defensively at
second. Will give Daniel Murphy a run for him
money next spring in camp. Has the potential to be a 20-30 HR hitter on 2B.
5 – RHSP Rafael Montero – B+
- Mets showcased him in ST this
spring. Looks real close to ready, but I expect the Mets to only promote him as
far as Las Vegas this year. Potential SP4 in 2014.
6- RHSP - Noah Syndergaard – B+ - probably the steal of the
Dickey trade, it’s just going to take some time here. His ETA is opening day
2015 to join Harvey, Wheeler, Niese, and Montero in the rotation. Wow.
7 - LHRP Jack Leathersich- B – as close to a sure bet out of
the pen, putting up sick K/9 numbers at every level. Will pitch in Queens next
year.
8 - RHSP Luis Mateo – B – currently on IR, but should get off
soon. Was major trade bait up to the injury which dates back to the days he was
originally signed. Damaged goods. May wind up in the Mets pen some day.
9 - CF Matt den Dekker – C+
- best defensive outfielder in
the system… now what? Currently on the IR and could be out for a while. Others
will get a shot first and Brandon Nimmo will
eventually play center in Queens. Future RFer?
10 - RHSP Michael Fulmer – C+ - torn meniscus and conservative
Mets treatmend have put him on the shelf for the first part (half?) of this
season. Was projected as future SP5 candidate before injury.
11 - RHSP Domingo Tapia – C+ - all tools at this point… hits 100
and throws a 97 slider. I’m thinking closer here.
12 – RHSP Jake deGrom – C+ - late round draft pick that exploded
on the scene last year after season ending TJS in 2011. Already in Binghamton
and has raised his ETA to a possible mid-2014 availability.
13 - SS Gavin Cecchini –
C – still in extended camp so it’s tough to evaluate whether this first round
pick has what it takes
14 – RHSP - Rainy Lara – C - The
best of the current Savannah staff… needs to start moving up the chain due to
age. If not, destined to future pen.
15 - C - Kevin Plawecki –
C – very impressive 2013 season so far in Savannah. Has become one of the top
trade bait players in the system
16 - CF - Cory Vaughn –
C – very streaky, who is currently on a hot streak, Watch for him to be
promoted to Las Vegas this month.
17 - RHSP - Cory Mazzoni – C – currently on DL, potential pen
member.

By the way I think its a nice idea to update the prospect list during the season. Do u will continue to make updates?
