Mets Minor League Report – June 13

Tacoma (41-27) swamps Las Vegas (34-31) 11-0.
In his final minor league start, Zack Wheeler mirrored Matt Harvey’s performance earlier today, making only 1 mistake in 5.2 innings, a HR by Carlos Peguero, the only hit he allowed. He also walked 2 and struck out 7. Despite his dominant start, Wheeler takes the loss and winds up his Las Vegas odyssey 4-2.
Jack Leathersich, in his AAA debut, allowed 1 ER without giving up a hit or a walk in his 1.0 IP. A hit batsman later scored when Gonzalez Germen relieved Leathersich with 2 outs in the 7th inning and allowed a walk, a double and a triple. (1 run charged to Leather Jack and 2 runs charged to Germen) Left to stay in the game to pitch the top of the 8th, Germen promptly gave up another 5 runs on 4 HRs. (Ouch)
To top things off, Robert Carson continues in Vegas where he left off in NY, allowing 2 R on 2 H and a BB in the 9th inning.
Juan Centeno’s 2-3 is the best we can muster for an offensive highlight.

Binghamton (40-25) @ Trenton (33-32) postponed (rain).

St Lucie (34-30) edges Clearwater (34-31) 6-5 with a run in the 9th.
Domingo Tapia started: 4.0 IP, 2 ER, 5 H, 5 BB, 4 K.
Angel Cuan (W, 6-1) went the next 4.0 innings: 2 ER, 3 H, 0 BB, 4 K.
Chase Bradford pitched a scoreless 0.2 innings, allowing a hit and a walk, followed by T.J. Chism (S, 6) who came in to get the final out.
Matt Reynolds: 2-5, 2B, R.

Savannah (40-26) rakes Greenville (22-44) 9-4.
Jake Kuebler: (W, 2-2) 5.0 IP, 0 R, 2 H, 0 BB, 2 K. A nice outing for Mr. Kuebler.
After Marcos Camarena allowed 3 R on 3 H in 1.0 inning, Hunter Carnivale pitched a scoreless inning, allowing 1 H. Beck Wheeler (S, 6) got a 2 inning save, giving up 1 R on 1 H and 2 BB, while striking out 3.
Jayce Boyd: 4-4, HR, 3B, BB, 3 RBI, 2 R. Some night for Boyd, who has been slumping of late. Hope this is the breakout.
Maikis De La Cruz: 2-4, 3 RBI.
Eudy Pina: 3-4, 2B, BB, 4 R.

DSL Mets1 (5-5) overtake DSL Yankees (5-5) to win 10-9.
This was not a game of pitching highlights. Starter Eucebio Arias was tagged for 5 ER on 6 H, (2 HR) 2 BB, 4 K in 4.1 IP. Even Audry German, (S, 3) who has been very solid in his previous outings, gave up 1 ER on 1 H, 1 BB, 1 K in his 0.2 IP while earning his 3rd save.
John Mora: 2-4, 2B, BB, 4 RBI, 2 R, SB.  It’s way too early to anoint John Mora the next Vicente Lupo, but so far in this young season, Mora’s slash line is .364/.523/.515/1.038.
Luis Ortega: 2-3, 3B, RBI, R.
Jose Martinez: 3-5, 2B, RBI, 2 R.

DSL Rangers (10-1) topple DSL Mets2 (6-5) 8-5.
DSL Mets2 pitchers did not fare that well either. Starter Ramon Rodriguez: (L, 0-1) 1.2 IP, 3 ER, 4 H, BB, K.
Alfredo Reyes: 2-4, 2B, RBI.
Jose Figuera: 3-4, 2 2B, BB, RBI, 2 R.
