Rule 5 Draft Deadline Looming. 11:59 PM Wednesday Night

     Tomorrow night at 11:59 PM is the deadline to add Rule 5 eligible prospects to the 40 man roster in order to protect them from the Rule 5 draft next month at the Winter Meetings. The following Mets ARE Rule 5 eligible this off-season. (hat tip Chris Walendin of tpgmets for tracking this info.)

(The team currently has 36 roster spots tied up. They can create two additional openings by non-tendering [aka releasing] Scott Atchison and Omar Quintanilla. I also think Zach Lutz is going to be outrighted with Satin and Flores both on the 25 man roster as back-ups. With the 7 spots I would protect  Bennett, DeGrom, Walters, Gorski, Huchingson, Vaughn, and Matz.)
